Slowly but surely, we are starting to feel the effects of trying to eat better and trying to exercise daily. I have a 6 day break coming up and I'm hoping to get in a good workout every day.
I definitely need to work on eating better when out and cutting a few more snacks out. The new Co-op opens today which will hopefully at least temporarily reduce the the level of highway robbery at the Northern store.
I guess we shall see. In the meantime, more water to drink and keep working away.... and hopefully by the end of the summer I'll feel less chunky.

Exercise is approaching daily in frequency, but I need to step up the duration and intensity. Tried out the 15 minute AM Yoga with Rodney Yee - I prefer Eoin Finn - Rodney's expression reminded me too much of the smuggness of certain politicians during national debates, but the short duration was good. !5 minute workouts are working out too - and there are 2 more in the mail with a Billie Blanks DVD.
The weather's gone back to being dangerously cold (I live in the Arctic - its still in the -20C to -30C range with 40-60 km/hr winds.... cold. Not go for a walk kind of weather... but this weekend should be better - and we have a kickball tournament to go to on Sunday when its only supposed to be -7 to -15 C and hopefully calm. There is a significant danger of food temptation this weekend with Easter Egg decorating on Sat. and a barbecue Sunday night. Good choices.... we'll try.
The real motivators is lack of comfortable fitting clothing and the fact that the plan for the summer requires us to be in good shape. I want to be able to enjoy my hikes, not feel exhausted and sore. The weather will help to make it possible to walk every day soon.
I think I need to target the abs more... they are squishy :( - so goal of the week - and the challenge of the week - Stanley Cup playoff hockey - the TV was on for 6 hours last night. Sigh

I'm getting close to saying that I'm doing some exercise everyday - not necessarily adequate in quantity or intensity, but I'm squeaking in 10-15 minutes in before work and doing yoga or something else in the evenings, maybe a walk. The weather is going back to cold though.
Eating has improved and with a pot of stew and couscous salad (much lower in couscous than it sounds - its a mixed vegetable salad high in cumcumber and shredded carrot) Its maybe promising, but without food mail I'm not buying as much fruit or vegetables, they just don't look that tempting at the store and they cost a fortune.
Ah the north...

Here we go again. Another round of trying to track my food vs. exercise intake in hopes of losing weight and getting in shape. My boyfriend and I are planning a summer full of hiking and I've reached that "my clothes don't fit anymore" stage - so to battle once more.
