had a great time yesterday.
treated myself a little, having a small popcorn at the movie and a small frozen yogurt (with only fruit toppings) afterwords. enjoyed the family day, since the girls are grown, we seldom manage to all be free at the same time anymore.
captain america: the winter soldier is a great movie. personally, i would pick it as the best marvel film yet, a solid combination of super-heroic action and spy thriller intrigue. i reccomend it heartily.
back at work, today and no plans for tonight. may try for a nice postprandial stroll with the spouse if the weather is nice...
hope everyone has a great day!

up 5 lbs...
i know this is all water weight, having a problem with edema this week. side effect of my liver problem. no ascites, thankfully, just swollen legs and feet. have gotten a lot of it worked off since tuesday (when it was at its worst). increasing magnesium and potassium, working on better hydration and getting more movement are key for me right now.
slept good last night, managed a solid 7 hours and only woke up twice. spent the awake time petting my cat, archie. very soothing for us both.
rehearsals are going very well. i was asked, because of experience, to choreograph a staff duel for the play. went over it with the actors last night and will work it more this week.
up to the city today with wife, daughters and daughter #2's bf for lunch, then meeting brother- and sister-in-law and seeing new captain america movie. looking forward to a good day.
hope all of yours are great, too.

for those who have been asking...
my community theatre group is doing 'a midsummer night's dream' and i have been cast as nick bottom, one of the group referred to as the 'rude mechanicals'. the play is, perhaps, the funniest of shakespeare's comedies and bottom is a very large and broadly comic part. my wife is also in the show but we only share one scene, so, for now, we're going to rehearsals alone.
the schedule is going to be a bit tight on days i work. i do 12 hour shifts, from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, and rehearsals are usually around 7:00 pm, so it's a bit rushed to get changed and fed in half an hour...
stormed here last night, okay so far today and supposed to warmup a bit. think it's going to be a rowing machine day, though.
hope all of y'all are having good ones...

wowsers!
got a lot on my plate today (figuratively speaking). working my usual 0630 - 1830 shift, then home to change and snarf something then off to first script read-through from 1900 - 2100 (knowing theatre people, probably more like 1900 - 2130 or 2200). then home and prepare stuff for work tomorrow.
eating okay, at least.
hope y'all are having less hectic, but equally rewarding, days.

one of those days yesterday.
ilse (my oldest) and i ventured forth to deal with the county treasurer and automobile tags and taxes. got started and had to turn around to grab forgotten paperwork. arrived at courthouse, dropped proof of insurance which is now, like the answer, blowin' in the wind somewhere, had to call wife at work and have her fax new copy to The office. find out That there is some weird error in the title of new vehicle, clerk has to call dealership and have forms faxed to her to be able to complete registration. fax machine, it turns out, is out of toner and their office manager doesn't let them keep an extra in stock. we call wife and clerk calls dealership with alternate fax number. finally, everything arrives and, one hefty check later, i am on my way home.
on the good side, it is actually warm here, though massively windy and already the tornado watches have begun, and last night director called to let me know i had been cast as 'bottom' in midsummer nights dream (one of my favorite shakespearean characters).
in the end, the good, as usual, outweighs the bad and/or irritating and life is good.
hope y'all can say the same.
