Goodbye water weight. Please feel free to take all this bloating and logy feeling with you.
Yesterday I discovered my new favourite snack. Frozen veggies (string beans in this case) eaten still frozen, but dipped in hot sauce. Perfect for this oppressive heat, and also for getting my sodium levels up.
I had heat stroke so badly on Monday I needed hospitalization, and while I've always had low sodium, I really got yelled at for my levels that day. (I barely remember, it took 3 hours of cooling packs and IV drips to get me lucid.) Do you know how hard it is to find high-sodium foods that are also low calorie and low carb? It's insane!

I'm back. The play was a great success. My weight management was... not.
During the stressful past 3 weeks, I ate whatever was directly in front of me, drank almost my body weight in beer each night, and paid no attention to the scale, and here's what I have to show for it. Almost 4 months of hard work, all down the drain. It's a sobering reminder that I need to plan well in advance for the stressful times so it's easier to stick to plan than it is to go off and eat junk all the time. I also need to look into replacing the dopamine release I get from 'bad' foods with something else, as I know I'll have more times in the future when those little comforts will be what I need to get me through the day. I just need to get them in a healthier way.
Now, I expect about 10 lbs to fall off as water weight as in the next couple days when I stop drinking beer and eating pure salt, and start drinking water and eating my veggies again, but after that, it's back to the hard, slow slog of real weight loss that we're all too familiar with.
New goal: pre-play weight of 180 again by October.

I am craving pizza delivery. A great big one, with sausage and pepperoni and jalapeno peppers and olives, and one of those brownie/cookie hybrids for dessert. Only about 20 thousand calories, all told. That'll fit in my diet, right?
*sigh* I'll be good and stick to the plan. I have a splurge night tomorrow for a dinner date. I can wait until then. But I don't know how to rid myself of these carb-and-cheese daydreams.
