Losing 1.4 kg a Week
19 August 2011
I feel pretty good today. I woke up this morning and was down a pound (actually two pounds from yesterday). Thats a start in the right direction. I found myself really hungry at 1500 calories so I had about 1900 for the day which I think is still ok with my activity level. I like eating 300 calroies every three hours during the day, but after work I find it difficult to do so I may have to combine the last two meals into one for dinner. I dont know if I am "supposed" to do that, but I dont have much of a choice if I am going to get errands done and work outs in! Kickboxing tonight! I hear fridays are really hard! Bring it on!

NEW PLAN!
Today I am starting a new diet to go with my work out plan. 300 calories every 3 hours for 5 meals (1500 calories) to help boost my metabollism and support my new work out. Sugars are to be under 6 grams per serving (thats gonna be rough lol), no carbs after 2 pm, and no eating after 9:30 pm. I am going to make sure to log my food and times I eat as I am told it is important to eat exactly every three hours. Hope this works, I feel good health wise, but I HATE being so overweight!

I FEEL really good. I LOVE kickboxing, but still no decrease in my weight. I decided it is also important to take measurements so I started that today as well. Its a very big struggle. I have to keep reminding myself to be proud for quitting smoking and not to beat myself up too much for not losing weight super fast. I guess a slower weight loss is healthier anyhow.

I quit my 23-year habbit of smoking 37 days ago. While the benefits have been FANTASTIC, the downside is that there are numerous weight-affecting side effects. I was already a good 20 pounds heavier than I wanted to be, and now I am at least 30 pounds heavier. I learned that smoking can burn as much as 250 calories a day so it takes at least a couple of months for your body to re-adjust to your new nicotine-free lifestyle. Additionally, you can taste food again and you are so much hungrier.
My goal now is to remain nicotine free and to lose not only the newly gained weight, but also the weight I already wanted to lose. I am very focused on eating as many fruits and vegetables as possible as the nicotine depleted my body of most vitamins. I have also started kickboxing classes which can burn almost 1000 calories an hour... when I cant do that I am wii fitting (running, walking, and yoga) for about an hour and a half. I hope to incorporate at least 4 days of exercise into my weekly schedule. My aim is to boost my metabollism, lose weight, and feel great by the time I turn 40 in January of 2012.
