It always helps to know that you are not alone! I am a 33 year old mom, I work full time and I have gone back to college to get my bachelors degree at night. After a couple of years of this, I got in to some pretty bad eating habits like grabbing fast food every night on my way to class, spending hours in my chair and not moving working/doing homework, etc. In that time, I blamed the new dryer for my clothes not fitting anymore. I also did not think I could manage a workout into my daily routine. I recently saw a picture of my self, and I almost did not realize that it was me! HORRIFIED! About 2 months ago I made a DR appointment (I really wanted an excuse to be fat....). I discovered that I was just obese and perfectly healthy (other than on the doorstep to type 2 diabetes). I also discovered that I weighed over 190 lbs (I am only 5'3"). For 1 month I exercised everyday, I did not lose 1 pound. The DR prescribed phentermine, an appetite suppressant. It is now 1 month later and I am down 13 lbs. I am on a strict low carb, low fat diet I came up with on my own. I am just starting spinning classes before work in the morning 3 days a week, strength & endurance classes 2 days a week, and topping it off with a Zumba class on Saturday mornings. I am determined to be in shape again for my family's sake.
