I am 30 years old and have lost 50 pounds on the South Beach Diet plan. I started out at 188 lbs and got down to 138. At my heaviest I was 196 and I'm only 5'4"!!!
It has been over a year and I have only recently gained a couple of pounds back. I continue to chose "good foods" but I also splurge when I want to. That is the only way I can stick to this. I look like a completely different person and I have so much more self esteem now. My husband is going to start on the plan so he can loose about 20 pounds and I am going to join him.
