I’m a mom and wife. I have never counted a calorie or really exercised much throughout my life but as I hit my 40s, my health started to decline. Soon after I was diagnosed with Lupus. Each year I seem to get more pain and gain weight. About a month ago, I really started to contemplate asking for opioids. I was constantly in bed, with heating pads on my legs trying to get some relief. I was exhausted and irritable. Something had to give.
I started reading a lot about how foods you eat can cause inflammation and many auto immune diseases start in your gut. I always knew that processed foods and “white” stuff wasn’t good for you, but honestly, I didn’t care. I loved to eat! But as I read more, something just clicked! I read all I could and dived head first into the Keto lifestyle! I soon realized that my body wasn’t in pain as much. Then I noticed that I did t take a nap that particular day....and suddenly the angels sang and Heaven’s door opened and tons of glorious fat came pouring out.....ok, maybe not that dramatic but close enough! 😜
This is now my life style choice. I’ve lost some weight and hope to lose more but the improvements to my overall health far outweigh the need to reach a certain number. I’m still not crazy about exercising, but I do find myself trying to hit my steps everyday. Baby steps.......😎
