Five half-days to go and I'll be on holiday until late August. This week really is a pain, we have nothing to do here, just marking time until the end of the month. Actually, with my new job, I do have a few things to do, but nothing that I couldn't do from home.

Even though we get to go home at lunch time, I've brought a packed lunch to work with me. That way it's under control and there's less danger of me having an ice-cream in lieu of lunch on my way home! We leave work at 12.30 so I eat my lunch, then go and get in a few groceries most days and catch the bus home, so I'm usually home by 2 or 2.30, too late for lunch really when I've eaten breakfast at 7 a.m.

I always used to walk in the early mornings but I can't seem to wake up these days. Instead, an early evening walk is fast becoming the routine. I put on my swimming costume and the early evening sun on my back is enough to build up a tan slowly without baking in the midday heat. I walk along the beach and back for about an hour so by the time I get back to my starting point the beach is pretty much empty and all the daily trippers have gone home. That's when I like to go in the sea. The sun is starting to go down, the water is usually at its calmest and I love swimming then. I swim for about half an hour at the end of my walk, then home, shower and dinner. Maybe when I'm on holiday next week I'll have a morning walk, too.

I also need to get into a study routine for the summer and do lots of background reading for my next modules.
