Well, I started a high fat keto type diet (whatever that means) a few days ago. I seriously thought it would be harder & I would be suffering, but in actuality I feel really good. I don't miss the carbs (bread & potatoes my faves) I can stay within my approx. 1200 calories a day. No bloating, no low blood sugar & I have a bit of energy. I hope this works & I don't die of a heartache attack 'cause this type of diet goes against anything I've ever learned about being healthy. But studies say its healthy. I only worry about my high cholesterol, but again it says it will fix that. So get skinny or die tryin'. Just Kidding just wanna get to a healthier weight to be able to chase my kids around.

I've been doing a similar program but not quite as strict as the keto diet with net carbs. I usually consume 25- 30 net carbs daily~~~~65% fat, 25% protein 10% net carbs BUT I was amazed when my hdl/ldl ratio was normal, my hdl was higher at 80 (ideal is over 40 or higher), my ldl was 120 (slightly higher than needs to be but still great bc I reduced it considerably~~~ under 100 is ideal)) AND my triglycerides were way down to 70(Under 150 is good). I was so excited bc all my life I've been told to eat low fat, low calories, etc. BUT eating grain free and sugar free has done it for me. Everything else is better too. My inflammation decreased, lower blood pressure 100/60, no RLS, NO WEIRD MOODS, super smooth and clear skin along with younger skin, less brain fog, etc. etc. Good luck to you!!! You'll be amazed how great cholesterol numbers will become and all the other benefits.

Wow, that's great! I wanna go get my blood work done so I can see where I am in 3-6 months. It's good to hear positive info. about this type of diet because I feel like I'm gonna give myself a heart attack. but I must admit I really do feel better on this diet.

You should read “Keto Clarity” by Jimmy Moore. It explains things really well and has a 21 day meal plan. He is also on Youtube.

You won’t be sorry! I’ve been on it for over a year and am so pleased. I’m down 60 pounds and I’m a high schooler so it’s so doable! Peer pressure is difficult though since everyone likes to go to bread co and gets pizza and all that crap. But they’re wrecking their own body, not me!

Thanks everyone for the positive reinforcement! I have little ones and making pancakes some days makes me weak, LOL! But I made some cloud/oopsie bread and that did the trick.

Also try cream cheese pancakes, or with almond flour! They’re a life saver
