I've been studying hard about the keto concept. I'm 62 and have lived a low-fat life since I was a young girl with my Mom dieting. I have tried so many diets that it just seems silly that I am back at my highest weight again!!!!! Figure I have lost and gained over 300 pounds through my life.
High blood pressure is what brought me here again. The 8 different medications the Dr experimented on me this past year made me an old lady. This old lady, still has fight left!!!!

I started Keto begining of December, loving it so far, dropped over 16lbs last month, and my husband has decided to give it a go too :) Check out Keri Connect and Dr Berg on YouTube, and ruled.me is a good resource too.
Keto * my phone refuses to acknowledge that as a word lol
I started the Keto lifestyle since last October, I love it and my husband joined two weeks later. It has gone very well, it works for us. On the internet there is a lot of information. I also did low-fat diets all my life and they did not work either. With the keto woe I found a solution. I hope it works for you too. 😁💪

Good luck, any diet works as long as your in a calorie deficit 😉

Read “The Obesity Code,” by Dr. Jason Fung or listen to the audio file on YouTube if it’s still there.

My daughter has been on the keto diet for over a year now. She lost 100 lbs in a years time. Now she is at a static weight. She is very happy with the diet and the results. Getting into ketosis seems to be the hardest part. Second hardest part is finding a way to vary the diet so it doesn't get boring.

Fung is the new Oz. Another snakeoil salesman. A caloric deficit is all you need. Some people find low carb is more satiating and avoiding carby foods can help people get into a deficit. Try it and see if you can make it a lifestyle if not, any diet works given a deficit.

I don't know anything about Fung, but I agree with everything else Diablo360x said. Just watch your intake and your calories out, and a deficit will be what gives you your desired outcome. I personally prefer a lower carb, higher protein diet. The protein keeps me fuller longer which in the end keeps me from consuming more calories from what I like to call "bored eating." I try to eat a lot healthier, but sometimes I still indulge in the things I really want, otherwise I know I'll binge at some point and fail horribly.. I just make sure I work the rest of my day around it, and make sure I do something to burn the extra calories. Not all diets work for everyone but I am positive that you will find what works for you, whether it is keto or something similar or something entirely your own. You got this!

I think keto is a viable dieting solution if the carbs you eat are low carb fruits and vegetables. I was doing great until I bought a whipped cream dispenser. Apparently eating copious amounts of heavy whipping cream will sabatage any diet... Who knew? The dispenser is locked up and is only allowed out on special occasions and I'm back on track. Down 20 lbs since late October even with the holiday whipped cream frenzy. Also, keto is great for those who suffer from inflammation, fibromyalgia, and/or have auto-immune issues. Have had a general increase in mobility and energy. Not a dramatic cure but a measurable improvement.

I am back to tracking and exercising on a schedule...and back here.I have not been weighed since August. Today I got weighed at my clinic and have gained 8.5 pounds. I will be weighing every Thursday afternoon at the clinic.I need to lose 58 pounds to be at a healthy weight. I will be 50 years old in February and am raising 4 school aged children on my own. I MUST STICK TO THIS!!!!

Keto has literally saved my life. I can absolutely eat this way the rest of my life. My blood sugars are under control and I’ve lost over 70 lbs so far. Once you get fat adapted (burning fat for energy instead of carbs) your world no longer revolves around food. It’s quite common to not even feel hungry! Best of luck to you! You can do it ❤️
