I have no explanation for the weight gain, 7 lbs in the last week or so. I went off the bp med, went to the dentist, reduced food intake a bit and am increasing calories burned from exercise. My only guess is fluid retention. Checked Fat Secret's carb count and Atkins net carbs. Net carbs are 50%-65% of total carbs. Sodium intake?

You are probably right about the water. A change in BP meds alone might cause it. Congrats on that BTW! Things will normalize soon. Keep your spirits up! This is a way of eating first, and a diet second.

Sounds like fluid retention! Going off medications can cause different problems. If it doesn't go away in a few days, talk to your doctor.

Yep, I picked the last few days and your sodium intake was over 4000mg. You should be looking at below 1500mg, but certainly no more than 2500mg. Reducing that might help. You might want to increase your fiber a little as well.

Saw the doc today for bp recheck. 120/60 so I don't need (if I ever did) the bp meds. He didn't have a clue on weight gain. My scales are 3 lbs/under his. I think you are right, H, about the sodium. Maybe I can blame the almonds:) We'll see if upping the treadmill time and distance to ~1000 kal workouts will do anything.
