Earthlady's Journal, 12 Jan 12

Got home very late because I made a visit to the local shopping centre to spend time with a friend and look for gifts. Then met my daughter and persuaded her we wouldn't go for a burger (even though we were both hungry) but would go home and cook something. By the time we got home it had been about 9 hours since lunch! We both fancied a "fry-up" so I went carefully on it but I've just entered everything I ate in my food diary and I'm amazed to see that I'm still well within RDI. Of course, that doesn't mean I'll be having bacon and french fries every day, I'll miss my vegetables and fruit too much, but it was a lovely change and all the more enjoyable for the relatively low calorie count! I blotted the fries of excess fat and poached the egg and I feel full and happy :)

Good job! I think we call that "sensible eating" :)

Yes, I think t just goes to show that we don't have to deprive ourselves or feel restricted as long as we control portion sizes and count the calories.
