Considering that I'm doing a lot less exercise than I should, probably reality is that fat stores have crept upwards and muscle tone reduced equivalently weight wise.
However, I feel vibrant and healthy enough, so whenever I decide to pick up the exercise levels I think it won't be especially difficult. Exercise isn't supposed to feel like a lie-in so it is never going to be 'easy' but it should at least be fun, and I think when I'm in the right frame of mind it will be.
I do this, by the way - I tend to spend a while knowing what I need to do, and at some stage the 'should do that some time or other' thoughts turn to 'should really do that quite soon' and eventually to 'ok - its time to do that thing!' (occasionally I have to leave this pattern early if there is some sort of urgency then it becomes 'I don't care if you don't feel ready - it needs doing now and you're the one who needs to do it now!') but there's no urgency - so you all get to hear me talking about exercise in progressively more imminent ways for oh at least a month, I'd say..

I'm at that kind of stage. I reckon I'll start doing a bit mid January. In my case, it'll be getting my veg patch ready for spring. What kind of exercise do you tend to do?

Like dieting, we have to be in the right mood for exercise. Hope you having a good day 🙂

Exactly. I spent a month logging my foods before I even thought about cutting down just so I could see what I was doing that needed changing. I'm a bit like that with exercise too

I have never been mad about exercise. I do love walking though, but don't really see it as exercise. Since starting swimming about a month ago, i can now actually say that i am enjoying exercise!

ARB, whatever works but actually, I think you're going about it the right way - if you start doing a thing you dread or don't want to do you will give up; if you start when you are ready, it's more likely you will succeed. I love to walk but hate the gym, however, have now reached the point where I need the gym so will 'find my moment' and go for it.

My favourite exercise is definitely dancing. I've got to get myself a play list together or move my stereo unit to the lounge - as at the moment it is too irritating on the music channels or radio when half the songs are rubbish or there are too many adverts. I love walking too but I don't have any opportunity for that anymore. I have a range of exercise DVDs Fab Abs is probably the best for effectiveness but I get bored of hearing the same commentary time and again - so I got some others a mix of dancier things salsa, latin, disco etc.. (I've got wiifit and a few wii dance too but that reminds me too much of a previous weight loss journey so that's out this time) - I think it is more about making that time - energy commitment. There has to be enough time to clear the area, do the exercise, freshen up after - if I watch a movie instead I don't have to do any of those things :) Movie keeps winning at the moment.

Glad you reminded me of the wiifit, ARB. I could dust that off and use it again. I thought it was too tame before, but it's probably what I need right now (well, from January 1st anyway).

won't diet right now. but my pedometer is showing a good 6000 or more every day. I'm not young, so I don't know how I manage this.

I know I would lose weight quicker, but I am so lazy
