PoulC's Journal, 14 Dec 16

Well, I am obviously selfie-challenged. The upload program even cropped more of the bad picture than my bad aim. Just as well, since my topless body is not yet photo-worthy. Only a matter of time until it is, though. I think 5 to 8 pounds more should do it.

I played hooky today and went diving. Conditions were beautiful... Lobsters were plentiful and we shot enough lion fish to get a pound and a half of filets each.

This message brought to you by the Vacation in Florida Coalition!

So I have been eating the hell out of grilled portabella mushrooms, eggplant, peppers, zucchini, spinach etc. Last night and tonight it was smothered in marinara with lobster chunks and clams with fresh mozz and parmesan. Soooooo good. I could only eat half. The rest will be lunch tomorrow.

Almost forgot to mention... I had a piece of whole wheat bread for my sandwich today for the first time in several months. I ran out of the 50 calorie low carb La Tortilla wraps. It was good. Just a minor diversion... I also had two small apples. I have to say, I was starving when I got home from diving around 3:30. So, does anyone think my hunger was due to the extra carbs I ate? I still ate plenty of protein, just not as much fat and way more carbs than usual.

I find that when I have more carbs than normal I am hungrier than normal. Sometimes the stomach ache and belly bloat come along with it for a day or 2.

Looking very good PoulC!!! Nice! I think you were probably a bit more hungry related to the diving. You had ONE piece of wheat bread and 2 apples, but if you've been following your diet to the letter then I guess there is a possibility the increased appetite could be related to the extra carbs. In any case you look GREAT!! The lobster doesn't look too bad either. LOL!

Thanks Arabella! I think I normally do more grazing during the day and have more things to fill up on. By the time I got home I was pretty hungry and woofed down an avocado. Still hungry I ate some chocolate - more than the little piece I normally eat... I suppose next time I'm on the boat for an extended time, I need to take some snacks that will fill me up better than a couple small apples. Those apples were soooooo good, though. Next time an ounce of cheese to go with it, perhaps.

yes and if you go on a chartered dive boat they feed you so much that you can't fit into your wetsuit anymore!

Viktoria, this is a friend's boat. You only eat what you bring along or can scrounge off your buddies. Kely, thanks. I'm getting there... Yes a day on the boat does wear you out. However, yesterday the ocean was flat with just a mild current. Water was almost 80 degrees. I have a dive scooter, so it wasn't exactly a huge workout.

Yes, that was your experience. Mine has always been a dive boat that we contracted with a group. Comes complete with Dive Masters and TONS of food.... and everybody so thin! ; ) San Pedro Harbor in Cali....
