Hmm - 2am and a whole load of housework later, do I tuck away a nice weight loss boost? Do I indeed! No - I tuck away a big chunk of malt loaf instead - yeah ok but it was chocolate malt loaf - a whole new world of bad.. oh well, I guess I just have to mess the whole place up again then I can re-try the housework, maybe this time without the malt loaf spoiler at the end.

Whoops, yes but you did do a whole load of housework!
So you should have burned some calories, may be the chocolate in the malt loaf worth.

I've enjoyed butter on malt loaf many times, they do go great together. But - it was actually without butter, though I know for some dieters that just makes it worse - they would have thought the butter was the benefit.
I tend to find foods with butter on tend to hijack me and force me to eat second and third helpings - though I have never liked butter on vegetables, but in general I have learnt to leave the butter off if I want to have any success at controlling my intake. That being said, I ate an end of loaf amount (probably 2 and a half times the right amount- but still ultimately a limited quantity), so if I'd wanted to stick butter on it then that would have been the perfect chance to do so - I guess I was too tired at 2am to realise that.
