AuntieJan's Journal, 19 Nov 11

Well good morning to Saturday! Today will find me with the furniture repair and cleaner hat on, or whatever else needs to be done at the store. It is a short day for me there, and I am leaving as scheduled this week because I have so much that I have to get done at home.

I was really sore and tired last night after a day of repairing drywall and sanding, followed by ladder climbing and painting. I had to take an Aleve before bed and it helped a lot. I try to just take one and usually it does the trick, my foot and leg were also really bothering me and it helped that too.

I am going grocery shopping after work and even though we are not hosting a Thanksgiving dinner this year I am buying a turkey regardless... they are cheap at this time of year and such a good protein for the calorie watcher. Plus I like the aroma of a bird roasting on Thanksgiving day while I watch the parades. Yes, it's corny, I know, but I like it. :-)

I am rapidly approaching the end of my time at the Center, I only have three sessions left before the holiday break and I'll be finished. Earlier this year we set a goal for me to end formal therapy by the end of this year, and here we are. One of my assignments is to do a bunch of writing about before and after, contrasts and comparisons about my journey from beginning therapy until today. I will share many of those thoughts here as I write because I can't think of a better place to share them.

I am happy to have come so far and as always I wish to reach others with this horrible thing called clinical depression and let people know that there is help, and that there is hope for those that take the initiative and stick out the hard times. It can be done!

And with that said, I need to get my rear in gear and get to it.

Have a wonderful weekend. Tell somebody you love them today!
Peace.

It is not corny - it is a rich tradition! And if you think about it - there is nothing wrong with a reminder to be thankful!
