So I have taken fat % measurements, BMI which is bull shit as far as I am concerned, and with the machines level of accuracy being skewed 39.7% fat +/- 6 points is usually the margin of error.

so at 302 Yesterdays weight. (39.7) 120 lbs of fat lean body 182
(45.7) 138 lbs of fat lean body 163
(33.7) 101 lbs of fat lean body 200

Im shooting for about 15% Body fat, which is a bit low for a fat old many like myself, but 85 % seems to be a nice round number of lean body mass..lol

So with this calculation
my goal weight if my lean body mass is 182 would be 214
163 would be 191
200 would be 235

Back in 2005, I had been part of a personal training program at the Swedish Institute, in NYC. I was the "crash test dummy" and had my body fat tested at the Obesity center at St. Lukes/Roosevelt Hopital. I seem to remember being 42.6 % body fat, after it was all said and done. I will search for the paper work to add to here, but for now that was my best recollection. But I was also about 280 or so then, and working out a bit more regularly. So I will honestly say that my goal weight should be somewhere between the 214/191 mark. Although, having been over 250 for nearly 4 years I can honestly say that 100 and anything feels impossible.

All of these goals however, feel much more achievable than they did two weeks ago. And they are definitely more realistic than the Doctors orders from Calshot Marine in the UK in April of 2008, who told me i Need to be 185 lbs, period. As you can see above, I would need a negative body fat percentage and to lose a limb or two to get there. Most of our medical profession doesn't know about Body Fat percentages and lives by the stupid insurance industries charts and out dated bmi's for weight goals.

That will be a battle the next time I apply for a job at sea. Right now, my goal is small.. to be below 300 for my birthday, in 2 weeks. Its only 3 lbs so I hope I can make it.

The only thing I do want to add, is that I had the most bizarre dream last nite about food and body. I stopped by a party that an old employer was giving, ( I used to chef for her) and walked in on an elaborate dinner party. Was introduced to famous people, but I was there in my swimsuit, whilst everyone else was in formal attire. I helped clear the table and there were cookies on a tray, and I fought with myself should i have one or not, I did succumb..;-( hopefully I wont today!!

Good luck with your weight loss/fitness goals, they are definitely achievable, you will definitely drop that 3lbs and be under 300lbs by your bday! What workout program are you following or intend to follow? I'm sticking to reducing my bodyfat as well instead of the arbitrary scale/bmi #'s. Maybe I should look into the Carb Addicts diet, I need to find a plan that I can stick to. I hope you're having a great Sunday!
