Hot, hot weather! Nearly 100 today. Just thinking about my original plan with the new house in Oregon would have had me move in April before the hot weather arrived here. But that fell apart when the new home development put everything on hold. And then my knee issues started and I didn't think about moving until I knew what to do about that. Now I'm living in a house with hardly any furniture waiting for someone to buy my house. I did buy a new dining table so I have somewhere to use my laptop beside the kitchen counter. No one had come by to see my house for well over a week and then today there were 2 showings. Bobby and I went to the park twice to kill time while the house was being shown. Way too hot for me, but Bobby is okay as long as he gets to go with me. My eating is bad again, but I'll get back on track at some point.

I sure wish your house would sell!! At least someone is looking again. Going to get hot here too.

Thanks YOH! I'm not as stressed as I was last week about the house selling. Sometimes I just need to accept life as it happens. I believe there are times when things happen for a reason and I will understand when I finally have this move behind me. Maybe my house will sell just when an amazing house in Oregon becomes available to buy. My knee still hurts a little. The 2nd orthopedist showed me where the meniscus tear happened and that is where it hurts sometimes. I think the cortisone shot is wearing off. I have figured out that too much walking doesn't help the knee. But a few times a week I can take Bobby for 20-30 minute walks.

Thanks Morticia! crossing my fingers about the house! At least it stays really clean because every morning I spend about an hour getting it ready to show. I hate hot weather. Can't deal with the 90's or 100's. Don't like the 80's much either. Perfect temps for me are in the 60's and low 70's. But it will probably not get below 90 much for the next few months here.

Why did you choose Oregon to move to?

I was just talking to my husband about you and trying to sell your house. I was just saying that maybe you sold it. I'm sorry it hasn't sold...maybe you'll get an offer from the 2 showings. I sure hope you do! I am happy we are out of the heat! Vegas was supposed to be 112 today. Utah is about 89 today. I can handle that. Tomorrow we will be in Colorado! So excited! I'll be sending good thoughts on your house sale!💜🙏

Thanks Diana! If anyone ever comes back to see the house a 2nd time then I'll think they are interested. I think I looked at this house 3 times in about 3 days before making an offer. There is someone coming tomorrow so at least Ii finally getting some showings. It's hot again today, maybe mid 90's. The thermostat shows it's 80 in the house even though I have it set at 77. I hate when it gets so hot the a/c can't keep up. I think it's the 3 skylights. I hope you can stay cool in your rv, I think it's hot everywhere. I hope you are travelling anywhere that has tornados!

Golfgirl, it's the weather I like where I am moving. I've been looking at the northern California and Oregon coast for several years. I love the beaches where you need to wear a light jacket all year and a temperature in the upper 70's is a hot day. I do still have a real estate agent in Fort Bragg, Ca that sends me listings in my price range once in awhile. But moving within California would be difficult because of how impossible it is to get homeowner's insurance.

Fritzy, we are going to Iowa to see Joes brother. They had a tornado in the next town a few weeks ago. Joe is nervous about the weather. 😬

Fritzy, when I was a girl my parents had our house up for sale. The realtor listed my mom as an immaculate housekeeper, so of course she had to live up to it. Once some prospective buyers were coming with little notice. We had just finished dinner so she shoved all the dishes in the oven. Of course they opened the oven. 🤣🤣🤣

Fritzy, I live in Washington and had a house on the beach for five or so years so I love walking on the beach and know what you mean about wearing a sweater, I loved that house it was North of Seattle out away from everything but a golf course. Have you thought of Washington? There is no state tax here and they do not tax SS Benefits. That is one of the reasons for choosing Washington after living in 15 different states we liked it here the best. In fact we were married here on June,27th 45 years ago this year. We said then that this is where we would retire. Best wishes on selling quickly.

Thanks AncientHippie! I like my house to be clean but am not crazy about cleaning it. But right now it just stays clean with a little work every morning. Hoping I'll keep up with the habit. I keep the kitchen counters empty and keep an acrylic cutting board in the dish washer all the time. Every time I take shower, i have to dry it down with a towel and then hide the rug I usually keep on the floor in front of the shower in the linen closet. Just lots of little things to do. I have 2 people coming tomorrow at 12:30 and 1:30 so have to my dog some where. That's the hardest part, especially on hot days. If it was just me I'd go to Costco or something.

Golfgirl, my niece and her husband live in Washington state. They moved there in 2020 I think and love it. I've been there to visit them 3 times and it is really nice. I have looked around dome, but it's more expensive than where I live now and everything around them have 2 stories. I don't want stairs anymore. They are near Olympia. I actually went and looked at a brand new senior manufactured home park in Sequim. It was really pretty there but for the amount of space rent, the new homes in Oregon were more affordable. Oregon doesn't have sales tax, so that's something. Gas is about $1 a gallon cheaper than where I live. Washington seemed about the same.

Diana, I'd probably be a little nervous about traveling too, but usually there are tornado warnings, right? But then you'd have to figure out where to shelter.
