Yesterday was a trial of sorts. We had several tornado warnings until about 8 PM, and a torrential rain storm started about 2 PM and lasted until about daybreak. We have a circular chip & tar driveway in front of our home, and 1/2 of it was under about 2 - 3 feet of water. We had about 10 inches of rain yesterday. It absolutely poured during that time. It is a similar experience to about 15 - 18 inches we received in about 2011, but that was over a 3 day period. I've never seen it rain so hard for so long. It was like the south Georgia swamps got moved to our property in Tennessee. Thankfully, none of the water got into our home. Also, the accumulated water is beginning to recede.

On a brighter note, my wife is preparing crab cakes tonight for dinner. Based upon the recipe, I have a feeling this is just another really good treat for this continued birthday / anniversary celebration. However, I've working out steadily since Monday, and can see the weight beginning to recede also. I'll probably revise this entry and post a picture of our dinner. If you have ever lived in the mid-Atlantic area between Philadelphia and Richmond (Philly and Baltimore for me), then you know how good blue crab cakes are. They are one of my favorite meals.

I love crab cakes. The storm here was the worst one I have every experienced. Scary winds. Lots of limbs down to clean up.
