Still plodding along toward the New Year. I'm staying off the scale until 1-11, that's the plan. That way, if I've gained a pound or two, I won't even know it because hopefully by 1-11 it will have fallen off again. I know this is the coward's way out, but I think it's psychologically the best thing for me. I just don't want to be so discouraged... I think I will be satisfied even if I'm at 173, but my goal is to be at 171.6 on 1-11, the same weight I was the week before Christmas. So these past couple days, I've been trying hard to keep my diet as much on the straight and narrow as possible, so that it balances off the few days at the end of this week and beginning of next week when having visiting family will certainly bump up my calories. New Year's Day dinner will be bone-in rib roast with all the trimmings -- one of my favorite meals of the year. I never have to worry though about over-eating this meal: I can only afford to cook it once a year!
