Workout at Gold's Gym went well yesterday. They offer discounts for University employees so monthly fee is reasonable, actually less than what I paid when I was going to WW meetings. I am going to give the rest of the week free trial a try and then make my decision. Right now the gym is really close to my office. By next Spring we will be moving to a new location which means it won't be near as convenient. That is my hesitation but hate to wait until we move to get off my butt and workout so may just go ahead with the membership for a year.

Eating went well yesterday. Supper was the greatest, have to get back to making separate meals for me from my family. They all wanted nachos so I just ate some too. We went grocery shopping Sunday so I have stocked house with healthy soups again now that that weather is cooling off. I just can't do soup in the summer time. Today I plan to go to the gym again during lunch, try to get in my complete 5K today. Yesterday had to spend first few minutes getting paperwork filled out so only had 30 minutes of true workout time and unlike some, that wasn't long enough for me to complete a 5K :)

Mushroom Festival 5K is this weekend. I am a bit nervous. Just don't want to embarrass myself. I haven't truly participated in distance runs since H.S. which for me was probably '91 as I didn't do athletics Junior and Senior year. Plus I have been told a 5K on a treadmill is different than a 5K cross country run. Wish me luck!!! Run begins at 8:30, my goal is to be completed by 9:15 with the run. 45 minutes is a long time for a 5K, but at least that will be an hour and 15 minutes before the awards ceremony!!!

Here is to a great week of eating and exercise!!!

Can you do a monthly gym membership where you can cancel at anytime? That's why I like my gym, I didn't have to commit to a year or anything. If you could do that, that would be great. Hope you get your 5K run in today!

I am going to check about their plans. I am hoping they might be able to put me on something like that. With this being a college town they have to be able to provide some type of option that gives you a cancellation clause. If I lived in town, there would be no question about joining, I just still am not sure if will use enough with living 40 miles away.

Probably not. My gym (that I go to during lunch) is about 4 miles away and it's a pain getting to that. Hope you figure something out!
