Turned 70 this past June and my goal is to maintain and hopefully add muscle as I head towards 80. Currently at 12% body fat and quite lean for my age.

Hey Mike, I'm in NC as well and need to add muscle mass, too. I don't know what percentage, but if I get down on my knees to grab something, I can barely get up. Is there something you are going to try to get your muscle back?

Some would say you’re too lean Mike. I say I don’t think so. And, if you’re around 5’ 10”, your right in the normal range for weight. 12% looks good 💪Live long and prosper 🖖

Thanks for all your comments! Although I can’t do the compound lifts I did at 60, I do push my reps to just short of failure. I know guys in the gym in their early 80s that have maintained considerable mobility and strength. Hope you all achieve your goals!

Andif16 I am pushing myself a bit more everyday but in a way that doesn’t cause an overuse injury or serious strain. I admit that movement early in the day is painful but eases as I stretch and move after waking. Working through some level of pain gets me to the next level. Good luck with your goals.
