My daughter and I had a great day yesterday at the LA County Museum of Art. She needed to go for a school project; I tagged along for support and mom/daughter face time. So hard to get when they are 18! :). We decided to go to Marie Callendar's for lunch afterwards - I chose a salad, trying to be safe. Ate half the serving of cornbread(which was delicious) I could not eat the entire salad - so I took it home. THought that was a great victory - in times past, I would clean may plate and ask for seconds on the cornbread + always made sure to get the pie!
Funny- as I was eating, I felt I could taste the sugar and salt; but was convinced I was obsessing and what harm could one lunch out do. Not until I go home to check the website, did I realize that this meal was a complete disaster. So many calories, sugars, sodium through the roof, etc. WOW!!! Good news - I wrote it all down - the good, bad & ugly. The truth will set you free! :-) Now--I promise you, I still had a great time hangin' out with DD; but will definitely try to find a different way to celebrate our time together.
Scale, as usual, reminded me to get it together. THis is a battle that will never "be over"; just kept "at bay". Definitely did my walk this morning - and drinking water like crazy. Need to flush/swoosh!!!
