Trying not to lose motivation!
Steroids prescribed for chronic condition so for the next 3 months the goal is to at least maintain the weight loss (although this may be out of my control as a side effect).
Priority is getting better and maybe the positive is I'll be able to add some exercise to help the process.

I gained around 7kgs the last time I was on prednisone but it was much better than when I started taking it. As long as you're aware you've got this! Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for the words of encouragement! They do seem to be getting the flare up under control so right now ill take the weight gain and hope for the best (that I can lose it again). I haven't weighed in a couple of days and decided to go easy on myself this week - haven't been counting calories but busy with meal prep this evening and feeling well enough to take doggo for a walk! So tomorrow will be a good day! Stay strong!

As a fellow spoonie I understand the significance of taking a walk, not to even mention taking the doggo with! You're already doing amazing🥳. Meal prepping is very smart, hoping you get to maintain your weight or at least minimize the impact.

hi there, I am in exactly same boat. been on prednisone for 2 months now, going on 3. gained 7kg the first month, was on 40mg a day, now down to 20mg a day. i started eating healthy last month and lost the 7kg gain last 30 days. been stuck on 91.4 for 4 days now. it is the medication i promise you. i am on prednisone, dapsone, colchicine, after bloodwork it came back that i have overactive hyperthyroidism plus anemia and that all together causes urticaria breakouts. im going to see the specialist in feb. i am trying my best to maintain and even lose a few kg's but its hard work with little results. somedays i dont even want to weigh myself because i know i did not even lose 100g. but also its a lot of water weight, keep telling myself little by little day by day. then there is the moods! irritibility, anger, tiredness, tummy trouble, depression, anxiety, numbness. oh i can go on, but it wont help. so please be patient with yourself like i am also trying to be. stay (slightly) positive and celevrate the small victories.
