I am very happy with myself for not "falling" off atkins yesterday. I stayed within 20 grams of carb and didn't give in to peanut butter or any other kind of temptations. Even though I wanted to.

I can't give in to those urges or cravings or whatever anymore. My weight is higher than ever and now that its officially spring, my ankles have decided its time to start the annual summer swelling. Its almost hilarious how they only swell in the summer and it doesn't even have to be very warm. They are pretty bad right now. I know sodium isn't something we are supposed to watch on atkins but I might try to watch just a little for the next week or so. I also need to be better about drinking water. I'm not near where I would like to be, yet.

The corned beef was exceptionally fatty last night. I didn't bring any for lunch today cause I just didn't want to have to deal with the fat. I am trying to think of a way to get rid of some of the fattiness. I am thinking about maybe throwing it into a skillet and cooking it off. Trimming would be difficult since its already been cooked.

I am going out for mexican tonight. My plan is to get fajitas and not eat the tortilla or the beans and rice. Not eating the beans will be difficult so I will need to have them just not even bring it. I may opt for a taco or fajita salad in a regular bowl to avoid the beans. That will definitely help me get the veggies in today.

I never thought of having them bring a taco salad in a regular bowl. That is an interesting idea. If I get the taco bowl, I know I will eat part of it. I always order chicken fajitas and not eat the tortillas.

diehard3 - I learned it from a friend who just doesn't like the shell bowl. It has come in more than handy - if something is in reach I'll eat it so best not even to see it. Thanks everyone!

I always ask if I can have lettuce leaves instead of tortillas. Abuelos, my favorite Mexican restaurant, even has it listed on their menu. As far as sodium I, too, have to watch. I find that drinking all my water seems to take care of the retention and swollen ankles. Good luck tonight with your fiesta!
