I bought some chia seeds this weekend in hopes of adding them to my smoothies. I was wondering which people preferred more just the seeds or soaking them?

I like to add them as-is to things so they'll absorb the flavor of whatever they've been put into. I don't think that I've ever just soaked the seeds on their own, now that I think about it!

I haven't started making a smoothie yet, but I add my 1 Tablespoon chia seeds to yogurt, oatmeal or a cup of sugar free drink mix (similar to Kool-Aid).

I used to put them in my protein smoothie but if left to sit any time they'd turn it to jelly and a texture I didn't care for. Ditto what Bill said, I mix them with yogurt, or sometime just in some water and gulp them down.
