Feels good to ride, doesn't it? 😃

Yes it does! I really enjoy the solitary rides on the C&O. I used to go mountain biking often 20 years ago or so. The C&O offers fewer opportunities for injury though so I'll stick with that at least until I can afford a nice mountain bike.

I always wanted to bike in Harpers Ferry but I assumed that it would be quite daunting. Is it very hilly?

Yfritz the C&O canal is quite flat. But the ride from my house in Brunswick down to the trail and back up is an entirely different story. If you bike around inside the town of Harper's Ferry it can be quite hilly also. My favorite part of the ride is the few miles that stretch north of Harper's Ferry.
(If you ever do come to visit Harper's Ferry you have to try the food at Kelly Farm Kitchen while you're here. They were featured on Yelp top ten vegan restaurants in the country 2020.)

John I live in Northern Va, and Harpers Ferry is a hop away. Route 7, yes? We are neighbors! I used to go to Charles Town horse races, after the race I would go to the diner across from it. Mountain View Diner I think😂 I will definitely bring my bike next time, and will dine at Kelly Farm Kitchen. I looked it up, they serve “incredibly gooey Reuben,” which intrigued me, but you said it’s a vegan place and it doesn’t compute…

Yfritz it would be great to see you on the bike trail some time! I'm headed out for a ride past Harper's Ferry again now.
