Janapp's Journal, 13 Jun 22

The main reason I am back on fat secret after 10 years is “peer pressure”. I had enough of my partner saying I need to lose weight. Enough of my aunt counting how fast I munch crisps, as well as how many crisps I munch. The friends I love the most are mostly overweight/fat owing to booze. I assume that booze is most likely the main reason I put on 10 kg in the past 8 years. I am now enjoying being back-pain free for the first time in God knows how long after losing 7 kg in the past 4 months. The added benefit is being able to shop at the mall, since they have nothing to sell on a size 16 and above in Turkey. I am also glad I came to Turkey for my weight loss journey. There are no ready meals anywhere close to where I am staying and everything I eat I need to cook from scratch.

I think preparing meals from scratch is always best, even if it's just a salad with few slices of meat or cheese and a crust of bread. So you know exactly what you're eating and you get to choose every ingredient to suit yourself. Good luck with your weight loss journey. Seems you're already doing well.

I came to Turkey because I can play tennis for free 6 days a week at the public park. (Instead of £8 per hour at Fulham in London). I have a free place to stay, and I am saving heaps of money since pound to Turkish lira is now 1 to 20. I can order 60% of what I need for my diet from amazon.co.tr (prime - same day delivery). I don’t even need to speak Turkish, although I am trying.

Sounds like a lovely healthy lifestyle, although I guess living in Turkey also brings some challenges.
