abbadabba's Journal, 06 May 22

5 more days of work. Finishing up my Friday work, and then next week is the last week. My office computer will be closed up on Wednesday most likely.
I feel weird about it.
I am sure I will have a strange transition time. Mom keeps reminding me that I am always the kind of person who is busy all the time, so I am not worried about filling my time. Just getting the last things done is taking a toll!
Doing ok with water - gotta keep that as the focus, along with logging everything.

Volunteering, for me was a great way to transition into full retirement. grade schools are always in need of help. I would go in twice a week and help 1-3 graders with reading skills and absolutely loved it!!

You're right about the Adjustment period! I had a high pressure job, on call 24/7. Hubby and I retired a year ago last month. Finally getting into the new lifestyle! It's Great! Congrats on the milestone!

I missed my job when I became disabled because I loved to work. I am happily enjoying retirement now. I have made a couple of good friends playing the card game bridge. Quite enjoyable! Have fun!

Full retirement means - you will end up busier than ever before and wonder - how did you ever find the time to work in the first place. That is what happens - then Monday becomes Sunday - Thursday is Sunday - every day becomes Sunday. You end up with lots of time for your own "self care" and you get healthier. You will love it.

Yeah... many retired people say they get busier than ever once retired so it is all up to us what we want our lives to be
