My body is not cooperating. I have a set point of 1300 calories, and if I get less than that, I am apparently driven to eat until I hit that. 4 days and my average is just about 1300, probably a little more. I have to be diligent - how do I stop myself from eating cookies and bread? Remove bread from house. Do not bring change to work. Do not get candy from the admin.
I baked cookies yesterday, ate too many of them, and brought the rest to work for my boss' going away party. All gone!
I did experience a tummy growl today though, both in the morning and at dinner time. So I am getting signals. Also managed to get all the water in that I planned.
Focus and planning. Got to the gym yesterday, will go for a walk tomorrow, and then gym on Saturday again. Maybe Zumba on Friday if I can't get someone to go with me to a show.

If sugar is your Achilles heal, sometimes it helps to just take it off the table entirely for a while. I eat boatloads of fresh fruit every day so I never crave baked goods now. Pasta is my downfall (a single serving is so small!), so I’m holding off on it until Memorial Day. Am actually quite content with giant salads for dinner, so I haven’t craved anything for about a month.

Sounds like you are planning things out well there. Activity helps me since I do not eat while I do those and also try to get enough protein and fat in at the actual meals so that I do not need to snack. But we are works in progress for sure

Some days it is very challenging to stay on plan. You can do it!

Find a substitute that satisfies you. Mine was Smart 50 popcorn. 2 cups was enough to satisfy my desire to munch & filled me up. I am able to eat half of a cookie, if that's what I really need. Put it on a pretty plate or napkin with some fresh fruit. Sit down & savor it. Then tell yourself that's it....no more. If you can't do that maybe you shouldn't have cookies around for awhile. Buy lower calorie bread & try to eat it as needed. You might need it for a sandwich but you don't "need" it as an ingredient for dinner.

Instead of depriving myself, I will allow for one cookie or 1 roll or whatever it is I want. If I don’t allow myself those small things then I tend to fail and just quit

Maybe for some of us if we have tried the "just one bite" approach for years and years and we are still not limiting things... maybe try something different.

Agree with Liv: one bite of a cookie and the floodgates just open. Know thine weaknesses. I don't even have flour or baking powder in the house, so I can't bake. Try popping grapes if you get the munchies for something sweet (frozen they taste like candy).

You could try one cheat day during the week possibly. Sometimes though, if you stop eating junk for a while you crave it less. I am a sucker for chips and I don’t keep them in the house much and now I don’t really crave them

That's why I said if you can't eat just bite or limited amount & stop it's better to not have the temptation around the house. I used to have a difficult time with gummy candy & jelly beans. If I started eating them, I always wanted just a few more...& then a few more. For some reason I can now measure out a few, eat them & not be tempted. I don't even eat them often anymore & they were always a favorite.

Tough to eat less than 1300. I would struggle.
