Well, I cheated last night. Not by much, but.. to me not sticking to my protocal like it is set up, is cheating. :)
I knew I would since we were grilling out and having friends over, so I did prepare myself for it. First I did not have my usual lunch (brunch), and I drank plenty of water ahead of time.
I thought I would be able to avoid temptation and just eat a little more during our meal with our friends, and I did, except... I am allowed one portion of low fat meat, one portion of (ONE allowed veggie) and one melba toast. Since I doubled up I had two grilled hamburgers (not lean but small), a portion of tomatoes with a couple slices of sweet peppers and Sighhhh.. a couple of small slices of AVOCADO (definitely not allowed). I had a slightly larger portion of strawberries sweetened with splenda and a sprinkle of cocoa. (My friend brought chocolate dipped strawberries). She also brought wedding cake (she is a baker). I was pretty good I think except, I just had to wipe the serving utensil of some of the frosting and taste it! Arrrghhhh!
I did not gain anything... so far.. So, thats good, but today, I will skip my brunch again, and go stricter on my portions for my dinner meal tonight.
We all did have a good time. I ignored the barb from another friend that was there, when he saw me eating my own bowl of chopped strawberries (they all knew I am on this diet) He made a snide remark, what you cant eat the chocolate covered berries that your good friend made? You are too good for that, that you have to make your own? I just stared at him. I could think of nothing to say, cept that Trish understands that I am on this diet.
This morning I thought about what he said and how he is always like that, and that I should have reminded him that he did not have any of the tomatoes that I sliced so nicely for the hamburgers, like uh.. whats with that? Bubba?
LOL.. well all in all we did have a good evening of laughter and food, and I did not stray too far from my diet, as usually I would have gone ahead and dived into the chocolate and the cake because I love sweets. I must remember to be even more prepared for when we go out to eat even with friends. I read somewhere on someones post, that they prepare a bagged meal for outings. I will have to do that. because I notice that when I go out or eat off protocol, even if I think I am following it I either gain a pound or nothing happens.
