AuntieJan's Journal, 26 Apr 11

Getting up early and hitting the gym isn't always easy, especially after painting and doing housework yesterday. But I know I will be invigorated afterwards, it's amazing how well my body responds to it.

Today is my session day and I will get to meet my new clinician today, Erin said she will join us for about ten minutes. I am excited to meet her but also sad because I know this is my second to last session with Erin. We have been through so much together, I can't help but feel like I am losing a small part of myself. I am not very good with farewells, but I will get through it, one step at a time right?

Well I'm off to gym so that I can be one step closer to being the me I want to be!

ONWARD.

It's going to be a good day!

Everyone is inspiring me on my re-start - go you with your gym!!! You are you, even when Erin leaves, you have made the progress she was just there to guide you - it is natural to feel lose, but you can let go knowing you are so much stronger now - stay strong ♥

I'm sure Erin will have trained your new clinician well for you and pray it will be a smooth transition with minimal 'Erin-withdrawal'. ☺ Have a blessed day!!! ♥ ♥

She told me today that she wouldn't be surprised if we both don't cry next week. I know she is trying to make the transition as smooth as possible, Rachel is very capable, she and I will quickly build a rapport I'm sure. Thanks all for the encouragement, it's going to be tough on me but I'll be fine once I get through the transition.

Jan, you said once that Erin had hand picked Rachel to be your clinician after she leaves. You have come to trust her completely and I'm certain you can trust her to leave you in good hands. How fortunate it is for both you and Erin that you have made such excellent progress. Events are proceeding as they should. She will graduate and succeed in pursuing the career in which she obviously excels. You have come so far and achieved so much that you are ready to move ahead to your next phase of wellness and growth. God bless you on your new adventure! And thank you for your love, support and encouragement!

Thank you Pam, very well said and every point taken to heart. I don't think any of us much like change. I told her today that I'm going to miss her like crazy and I saw the look that came across her face... it was a mutual feeling, but one knowing that we also must maintain a professional distance. It is a tricky dynamic, and parting will be both an ending and a beginning for both of us. Who knows, maybe our paths will cross again some day.
