Not your choice, Not your body! Do Not Judge! Everyone has to find their own way. There may be better choices for her but your negative attitude will not help her to find them. If you have positive suggestions they are welcome.

Ansmith, you might try focusing on adding protein and cutting back on carbs to speed up your progress. The fact that you are trying to learn to live healthier is a Positive. Please be sure you are honestly logging what you are eating. Knowing what goes into your body is power. Keep working toward specific goals consistently and you will succeed!

Sorry Larry, but that is incorrect. Calories in, calories out, doesn't matter if its potatoes, bread, or candy bars. Some things will fill your caloric expenditure faster than others, so you have to keep that in mind when making those choices, but it doesn't mean you can't lose weight eating those things.

I second and third those opinions ... I am tired of reading this guy smashing another FS member for their food choices. Education yourself before you begin to slap at someone else for their personal food choices. Fellows just like you are the reason so many of us are obese !!! (Never insult a potato when the Irish are around - what is wrong with this person?) If you do not believe that you can lose weight eating potatoes ... just have a look at the people from the "Great Starvation" - Myth busted.

I have lost 54 pounds or so ... and today I had deep fried in oil - potato - one third of a cup (portion control) The one thing that you should never use is ... Artificial Sweeteners....opt for healthier and real food. There is not a thing wrong with oils or fats - vegetables - fruits - grains - nuts - breads --- the problem is the amount that exceeds any expectation of digestion. There is no way possible to digest that before you eat again.

My only suggestion --- would be - take the inside of the bun out - tear out the middle and toast the bun - since that is easier to digest toasted breads and by taking out that middle gummy dough part - you can decrease your Calorie In (CI) on that bread bun - by almost half. That would be my only suggestion - everything else is good!

Um, Larry Junior, I eat bagels, bread, chips, fries, & ice cream AND I've maintained a 40-lb weight loss since May 2019...every body is different🤙🏽

I have to wonder if Larry Junior feels a bit bad - and then ... you realize how other people feel when you slash at them - each to their own! Food of any kind is not "good or bad" - this is not a "Diet" - it is a health promoted Food Plan for Life. I sure as heck do not want to live in a world where I am not allowed to eat chips - fries - bagels - bread - or a small hot fudge sundae because someone else said it was bad food. Anyway ... this is not the bash Larry Junior show - "Before you judge a person you should walk a mile in their shoes" So welcome to FS - Larry Junior !!!

Larry Junior might need to improve his style of communication, but I think he didn't mean anything bad and he stated the fact that loosing weight on consuming processed food, predominantly carbs won't do any good. And the focus should be not on losing weight only, but being healthy! Cancer numbers are booming and it is triggered a lot by the boom of production food😔

Not only the production of processed foods, but the CONSUMPTION of processed foods. Manufacturers will only produce what people demand and will buy. Keto is a perfect example of this. One day you have never heard of Keto and the next everything in the store has a low carb, cauliflower base. If people stop buying, they will stop making.

That looks like a great start. I remember before I joined F.S. I was eating out of control. I was having snacks all day and my first step was eliminating the snacks. My calorie intake was probably somewhere around 4000 calories plus a day! I had to start slow and get my body adjusted to a lower calorie intake first. Keep up the good work. it does pay off!

Been signed up and logged in for not even 20 minutes and already wanna delete this app lmao. Imagine being aware that you yourself are 30lbs overweight and you come on someones food diary to try and tell them how they should be eating, some of yall are hella cringe.
Keep doing your best and eat what you feel like, as someone that has been stuck in a binge/diet cycle for years I feel like this is the only way to continue with a "diet" and not feel burnt out.

People have bread at at least one meal in many countries. Same for potatoes. I lost and maintained my weight eating both. You're terribly ignorant if you think anything other than being in an energy deficit matters to lose weight.
|
Lesyamirindi, his exact statement is you won't lose weight eating bread and potatoes. You're making up stuff. And since when is processing bad? A baked potato is processed because it is cooked. It is still not unhealthy. Rice, highly processed, is a staple of many healthy traditional diets and a bodybuilder food that people use when getting extremely lean. Anything other BS you got?
|
Lol eating carbs doesn't make you unhealthy. Neither does processed food. Uneducated people should really learn more about food and the diets of the world before opening their mouths and lecturing people or giving advice.
