I actually weighed about #294 before deciding that that was too much. I could only wear 3 pairs of jeans with 2 closets full of clothes. I got down to 256 on my own but felt I was not happy and started eating bread again and all the Cokes I wanted. I built back up to #270+. I had actually started cutting out bread and some treats about 9 months ago and my weight fluctuated around #265. I have kept under the mark of diabetes with finally being diagnosed in Nov. 2020. I was prescribed Metformin and cut my Coke consumption from 4+ a day to less than 3 a week, now even less, changed my bread to only whole wheat, and quit pasta of any kind. Cookies, chips, and crackers all went in the trash. Beverage of choice became unsweetened tea or water within an occasional 12 oz. of Coke. The first #10 was easy. I kind of stumbled through the 2020 holidays with some moderation and gained #4. The new year was back to the diet trenches and lost the #4 in about 3 days of a strict diet. I actually got a popup flag from this site I may be losing too fast. Carb craving is the worst but everything is still in moderation mode. I now can suck in my tummy where a year ago I wouldn't even try. I've gone down 2 sizes in pants and some tees. I made a target weight I knew I could reach of #235. I have changed it to #230. This site helps even though I don't always post every day. A lot of things are better. Foot pain, poor balance, blood pressure, and back pain have all been reduced. I am eating some whole wheat pasta. I rarely eat red meat. I cook using an air fryer. My oil of choice is olive oil. A couple of things I have read was that I should consume only 90 calories of carbs a day and a target ideal weight of #198 of which I did not feel was realistic and found this site with more realistic targets. I'll be here for a while but is thankful for the help. I turn 69 in March but plan to stick around for a bit longer. Remember to take time to be good to yourself in these difficult times. I should stop watching the news and focus on myself more.Be yourself!
