I keep hearing about inflation and I am very price conscious. Noticing big increases in everything at the grocery store and am so tired of lack of inventory. Usually 2 or 3 items on my list are not there. I know what days milk is delivered so I have figured out when to go for that. But then the bread isle is empty.

I bought some KN95 masks on Amazon a couple of weeks ago and now all they are talking about on the news was to ge N95 or KN95 masks. And that there are lots of counterfeits. I just checked the masks I bought. They were $16.99 when I bought them, now they are $79.99! Talk about inflation.

Thank you, Misskiki. I just ordered 20 @ $1.15 each. Slow delivery via USPS is free, faster via UPS will cost another $15.00. I've got a few left, so I can wait.

Good post, Fritzy. I used to teach gardening to teenagers and they would always ask me why the heck they should learn to garden. There are many reasons, but one answer was, "What would you do if the trucks stopped rolling?" They scoffed, believing that could never happen. Well, apparently a pandemic can cut deeply into the functioning of the production and delivery systems. I'm going to plant a bigger garden this year.

I am aware of the shipping snafu as one cause of shortages, but drought is another, more long-term cause.

Drought in California surely has and will affect food prices and shortages. I was out there a few years back during a drought and was shocked to see whole orchards of dead almond trees that had been left unwatered due to the drought. So sad.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. I'm satisfied with the masks I bought. I rarely go anywhere so they will last me awhile. Daddy - I think Jimboys tomorrow sounds good for Taco Tuesday!
