Yes I gave up metformin also . I have been on Atkins for two months now and my levels are between 5 & 6. I am having a slow weight loss though. Not sure if it is because I am postmenopaulsal or just super sensitive to carbs.

My weight loss has been slow also. However, I know I am eating how I should be. This is my new style of eating for the rest of my life. I feel great, I am losing inches, and my outlook on life has changed for the better. I didn't get fat overnight, I won't lose the weight overnight. (Darn it!) It is coming off much slower than I remember it going on.
