Reina Estrella's Journal, 25 Apr 09

The last two days I've done really well...until it's time for bed.

Last night, I ate a box of stuffing and the night before that, I ate a box of mac-n-cheese, although it was whole grain. =)

I KNOW I have to eat right before I go to sleep, otherwise, I don't sleep, so I'm going to go buy some progresso soups and have them on hand if I start craving something hot and a bit heavier before bed.

I will just have to save some calories during the day for my night time meal before bed. I'm learning to work with myself...to know where I'm failing and how to compromise.

This journey is definitely that, a journey, and not necessarily a destination. I'm slowly realizing that.

This weight loss journey is so much more than physical. Gaining weight has changed the way the world looks at me, and more importantly, the way I see myself.

I want my inside to match my outside...does that make any sense to anybody?

Someone recommended eating flavored rice cakes and drinking diet soda....Try it cause it worked for me and actually now I don't have the late night cravings.

I've also heard that but unfortunately, I hate rice cakes! I've tried to eat them several times but it just doesn't sit well with me... =(

Hey Reina, I can sense the way you are suffering in what you write and I can completely understand what you mean about being hungry at night. I'm a night eater as well. One thing I would wonder about it what you eat on a daily basis. Weight Watchers is so much more than just "points" and it has a lot to do with what foods we choose to make up those points. The closer you get to the "earth" the easier the diet will be. I'm on my second round of WW. The first time I lost about 80 pounds and it was awesome. This time is more difficult due to my schedule, but when I have the time I eat lots of fruits and vegetables. They make up the bulk of my points. I rarely feel hungry at night and I often feel full the whole day. The next day I am usually down a pound. On the days I live out of boxes and plastic bags (Mac-n-cheese, stuffing, and other "processed" foods) I either gain weight or stay the same. I would recommend staying away from the diet soda as well. Its okay once in a while for a treat, but countless studies have shown that artificial sweeteners wreck havoc on our system and can greatly inhibit weight loss. So all those diet sweets should be very limited. Anyway, I hope that helps. Just remember, if you need some support you need only reach out and it will be there!

I agree with DR a lot. KiKi, by the way... I LOVE your new photo. Especially your eye make-up. I understand what you mean about inside and outside! Try an apple for cravings.. and actually today I had to have two apples because one was NOT enough. LOL. Love you girl!
