GrandNonny's Journal, 02 Aug 21

I am in a downward slide into being ravenous hungry and taking delight in everything my daughter cooks for us. She's a vegan; I am not, but I love her cooking; I love everything..I'm disgusted, frustrated and stuck. Need help but don't know what..so I don't even know what this program is about..just the it is free..and that helps. so I will try and try and try until something clicks!

A lot of great tools here and a mostly awesome community! But ultimately it's you setting a goal and working towards it. It will be you against yourself everyday with every meal. It's not easy as we as all know. But it does become more manageable once you find what works for you. You can do this! The hardest part is just starting! Good luck!

Hey there… If you could drop 42 pounds. You can do anything! Losing weight is hard. It’s mental and physical work you just gotta set your mind to. You gotta be on top of yourself and stayed focused on your goals. You can add some balance to the tasting of your daughters cooking so it doesn’t throw you too far off your goals like maybe 3 days out of the week you’ll sample her cooking? And the other 4 stick to your plan… just an idea. Oh. And a side tip… Drink lots of water! If waters an option, drink it up :))

track what you eat. I'm in the process of trying to lose 90 lbs and it was really hard at the beginning, at least mentally. Ive used intermittent fasting to my advantage, as it allows me to have 2 meals but bigger meals and i feel lighter for a longer time which is a nice feeling. also find a style of eating that works for you, in case you have any allergies. sparkling flavored water and mineral water keeps me full as well during my fasting and in between meals. I forced myself to like it and have been losing 2 lbs a week over the last month.

You only fail if you stop trying! Make one or two small changes (use a smaller plate, add more water, walk for 10 mins, etc.) until you have a handle on them, then add another. Set small manageable goals (5-10lbs) and celebrate each one as you hit it. Tracking Everything I Eat and Drink has been the only thing that has consistently worked to help me lose 65+lbs and maintain for the last year. You Can Do This! Just don't ever give up... one day it will all click!

Oh I love the comments and hints for trying harder...will begin today and try to remember to post; love the suggestion of eating Vegan for 3 days and sticking to my plan the other 4, excellent idea! My daughter wants me to lose weight also, she knows how much it means to me and for her, she would hear a lot less complaining (hah).. Also the tip about making small changes (which I can handle, small is big for me) and being faithful to tracking which I need to work on..I'm ashamed to post what I've already consumed, but here goes..thanks for the comments/hints/ and for caring!!
