THE OPPOSITE OF ADD

Trying to figure out the next 3 days of menus so I can get the grocery shopping done today and won't have to go over the weekend. I really need to be a little more focused on getting this done as quickly as possible. But when I start looking at recipes I get pulled into all the wonderful things I could make and then before I know it, HOURS have passed and I haven't written a single thing down on my grocery list.
I'm thinking I just need to keep it basic for now so I at least get it done. It shouldn't be too hard. Meat, veg, salads for dinner. Eggs for breakfast. Leftovers or salads with protein for lunch. A little something for snacks/dessert. How hard is that??? Apparently for someone who has the opposite of ADD (what would that be called?), pretty dang hard.

Hi CB, thanks for stopping by my journal. Sorry I'm so 'meh'. I know you are looking for work and I should be grateful I have a job! Can't wait for my holidays, I need the break. Good luck with the grocery shopping. Why don't you do the basics this week and that will give you a week to brouse the menus and come up with more interesting stuff for next grocery day.

No need to be sorry for being "meh" if you weren't meh every once in a while then you wouldn't know when you were "YAY!!!". At least that's the way I think of it. I was meh yesterday for sure but I'm already over it. And am pretty "YAY!!!" today. I would love, love, love to be able to plan for an entire week. I don't know what's wrong with my brain that I can't do it. The funny thing about it also is that I've been responsible for provisioning for boats for week long or longer trips when I'm working. I think I'm going to attempt thinking of my daily life as a long boat trip and I must get it done. Maybe just get all the proteins for the week today and half the veg because I really hate it when veggies go off. Now I just have to get up off my lazy rump and go!

Good luck getting off that rump - LOL. Yes, thinking of your life as a boat trip for the week might work and I hear you on veggies. Go crisp or go home - lol. I am lucky, hubby does all the grocery shopping and cooking. He doesn't plan, just has a bunch of staples in the freezer and 'shops' in the freezer every night and adds whatever fresh veg is in the house or supplements with frozen. I am so lucky.

I just hit the outer perimeter of the store and some basic staples in the cleaning/bath supplies section...zip up the frozen veggie aisle, and I'm almost to the checkout counter!!! YAHOO!!!! (I hate grocery shopping - most days!)

SM-better keep that man around! He sounds like a peach. My husband will shop if he must but I've taken over the role of hausfrau since he is working and I am not. If it was the opposite he would be doing the domestic stuff which he doesn't like doing but would so I guess it works out okay that I'm the one not working. If we were both working I don't know if anything would ever get done. J-Grocery shopping is the only shopping I DO like. I could spend hours going over every little product. Any other shopping though and I'd rather go see the lady doctor than be put through a day at the mall or wherever.
