I need some clarification and I know you all will have the answer for me. I was shopping and saw a box of Atkins Advantage Chocolate Chip Granola Bars and on the front it says there are only 3 net carbs but when I turned it around on the Nutrition Facts panel it says: Total Carb 18g Dietary Fiber 6g Sugars 1g Sugar Alcohols 2g Now, I'm no math wizard but something isn't adding up. The serving size is 1 bar. BTW I don't have a photographic memory, I took a picture. Anybody know what's up with this?

The Atkins people state that the sugar alcohols don't impact glucose levels and as such are not counted. However, in real life they tend to stall a lot of people, me included because my body processes sugar alcohols differently and my pancreas sees them as sugar and dumps glucose in response, which kicks me out of ketosis. Hope that helps. Have a great evening!

I'm afraid of that happening to me too so I'm not going to tempt fate. But even if you subtract out everything that can be subtracted out that still adds up to 9 or 10 net carbs, right? Why does the package say 3?
