I don't understand what I did that I gained .6lbs overnight. The only thing I didn't do was starve myself. I ate under 1000 calories and I worked out for over an hour. My boyfriend said I'm probably just retaining water, but that hasn't happened for the past 7 days, so I don't understand why it would happen now. I guess part of losing weight will be going hungry.

You might not be getting enough protein and nutrients to keep your metabolism going strong.

Weight gain can be from water retention. Then again it might just be a muscle that weighs more than the fat.

I ate chicken for lunch and dinner yesterday, so I'm getting enough protein. As for muscle, can you build .6lbs of muscle overnight?

Weight will fluctuate even when losing. If the food you ate was processed or salty then you may have had retention. Try not to weigh yourself every day. See if you can aim for more calories and fewer carbs. You may be needing more fat in your system.

.6 lbs is just a bit more than a big glass of water. There are going to be day to day inexplicable fluctuations. It happens. When it becomes a pattern or just won't shift it can be more troublesome. Years ago I was in the hospital. On IVs and a very limited diet. One day I gained 6 lbs in a 24 hour period. I learned then and there that I just can't take short term fluctuations seriously.
