Whoa Nelly! I did my initial weigh in and I'm about 15 pounds heavier than I thought I was. What a wake-up call. This is the absolute heaviest I have ever, ever been by about 15 pounds. Blech.

Everybody starts somewhere... sorry you had to have such a rude awakening... but better to walk in the truth and move forward than to get down the road and find you are no where near as far as you thought! REGARDLESS... You will never be there again... if you start today and never give up!

I agree with JS, and honestly that first weigh in is possibly the worst one you will ever have to do. However, now you know the truth, and you can only go down from there! Good luck.

Thanks for the comments and encouragement. I think in the deep dark recesses of my mind I knew I was heavier than what I was admitting to. I just kept squeezing into the same old clothes so I brainwashed myself into thinking I wasn't getting heavier.

Oh, we've all been there! Today is a NEW day CBreeze... Make it your own! You are in charge of your choices! (oh, and been there on the dressing room denial front!) just would not give in til I was practically without any clothes to wear at all. And then I cried! ... and then I got serious. Love the pic of the yacht... is it yours? Many memories of sailing...love sailing!

Yeah we have all been there, and admiting hurts our pride the most. I was so bad that I was down to 2 pairs of pants and 2 shirts before I admited I needed to do something. And then I saw a picture and was like OMG that is NOT me!!! So no worries, the nice thing about this site is there are so many of us who are there and have been there that are willing to give so much great help, advice or just lend an ear when you need it!

JS- That yacht belongs to Johnny Depp. It's in the same marina as the yacht my husband works on and I was visiting him the other day and snapped the photo. Unfortunately, Captain Jack Sparrow is nowhere to be seen. I've got the hubster looking out for him. I love sailing, too, but haven't been on a sailboat in awhile. My dh and I are shopping for a boat and we will probably never end up getting one because I prefer sail and he prefers power even though he's an excellent sailor and is the one who taught me to sail. Pixie- I'm fortunate in that I live in a warm climate so most of my clothes are pretty easy fitting, or at least are designed to be, so I can still squeeze into most things. I've decided though to get dressed in workout clothes when I have nowhere to go which is most days so I don't procrastinate getting a walk or workout in first thing. Also workout clothes are nice and stretchy!

Cbreeze, we have all been there. We lie to ourselves until we see some glaring truth in our faces... And it's NEVER our own mirror. Those clothes shrunk in the wash... I'm retaining water.... until you see that number you never saw before or you hear your doctor refer to you as obese, or you see that picture....
