I thought they decided egg yolk doesn’t raise cholesterol. Is that not true anymore?

Most recent articles in MSN Health and other sites states new research shows cholesterol in moderate consumption eggs does not raise cholesterol. And the other nutrients and benefits in the yolk far outweighs the amount of cholesterol. However, some old school doctors insist their patients not eating egg yolks. If a person chooses not to eat them .. ok. It's your body. Enjoy!

I don't think egg yolks are bad generally (in moderation, like anything) but some people may need to avoid them because they follow a very low-fat diet, are trying to keep saturated fat to a minimum, or are amongst the people who do need to watch dietary cholesterol. It's similar to salt: not everyone has to be super careful with their intake, but some people do have keep it low to stay healthy. I myself use egg whites sometimes, mainly if I want to cut sat. fat a bit, or I'm going to indulge in something else, or want a big voluminous omelette or scramble with all the protein while reducing calories. Sometimes I know I'll be eating a lot of cheese or bacon and want to cut a bit of fat out of other foods. IMO, egg whites are very tolerable both in scrambles and pancakes, a great source of protein and versatile.
