I agree w/Kenna Morton & Diana 1234. My doctor's assistant put me on a 1200 per day caloric intake diet. I also have to watch cholesterol & sugar intake so, I do sugar free on most things if I can find them. If something has regular sugar, I will just taste it to get it out of my system or just eat 1 piece, serving, slice, but small as can be w/o being a glutton. :)

1000 calorie is totally fine. I’ve been doing it for several years now. Of course there’s day that I go more than 1000 my max if ever go ever go over would be, 1300 calorie. It makes me feel light and energetic.

I used to eat 1200 calories a day for about a year. Lost about 40 lbs. The problem became that my metabolism got used to that intake and I started gaining weight again. Ive recently began strength training over the last month and half and increased my calories by about 50 each week. I'm now at 1550 and losing weight again. My maco breakdown is: 116g protein, 52g fat, and 155g carbs. Basically what I'm getting at is that the initial loss might be good, but staying at that intake (especially since you mentioned you're also strength training) would more than likely be detrimental to muscle growth. The 1700-1800 you're at seems like a better spot to be in, in my opinion.

I'm so relieved to hear you're around 1700-1800! Especially with all that you are doing to stay active. Also very, very glad that you've found a system that works for you. =) I do worry for the others in your region who are sticking to as low as 400 a day. Even with the overview of a registered dietician, it can be tricky to fit the appropriate macros/micros/vitamins/minerals into a 400 kcal budget. I hope they're doing ok.
