I plan to weigh in every Monday and Friday so hopefully I remember to do so. I know walk 2 miles every day at 3.5 mph. I’m still figuring out how many calories to eat. I don’t want to eat more than 1000. And I think I’ll try that but I don’t want to get nauseous and dizzy like the last time when I tried intermittent fasting. It works for some but it didn’t for me. Anyway I hope I will soon see my weight leveling out. Any suggestions to how much I should eat and what other exercises????

Which exercises are you doing? And let me know if 1000 calories work for you!

Intermittent fasting is a great tool for some but it has issue when it comes to women . Interesting read. Check it out. 1000 calories may not be enough for you— too few can be counter productive. Reassess your RDI.

Yeah I just walk 2 miles a day. With some jogging in there to. And then ( I’m still in high-school) we do like track. And thanks Kenna I might eat more than 1000 calories. I’m still trying to get it all sorted out.

I was told by my Doctor 1200 calories. I have seen that elsewhere as well. And that read as a blanket statement (not male vs. female, or a certain weight, etc...). I sometimes only eat 1000 calories, and am fine, but it's rarely on purpose.

Just keep coming here. Weighing , Writing /logging. Like homework or social media...just show up and tweak yourself one small thing a day at a time. Godspeed you are going in the right direction. We are here for eachother over our weight and what got us here. Common bonds. That it!🥑

Figure out what your RDI should be, then subtract 500.

I lose eating 1500 calories per day and I am old and not very active. Eating too few calories can cause your body to go into starvation mode which will slow down weight loss. Good luck on your journey! 💚🏡🎄

At such a body weight consuming a daily average of 1500 cals you should easily lose weight. At 1000 cals you should lose like there is no tomorrow. Muscle and fat literally disappearing. Not the way should anyone lose weight. Exercise is a must for anyone's health and well being. But i am a strong believer that it should not be used for weight loss or maintenance. NEAT yes, for lifetime. Have you checked your health ? Thyroid, PCOS...

I suggest trying loseit.com you determine how much weight you want to lose per week & it will tell you how many calories to eat. It’s free and easy. All you have to do is log what you eat and you can even scan it in. When the pandemic started I was eating whatever I wanted after I gained 5 pounds I decided I’m not going to get bigger so I’ve lost 10 pounds and I’m very happy . I walk three times a week for 35 mins. Well I like about it is you eat whatever you want it’s all based on calorie count.

I use both fat secret & lose it apps. Lose it does calories per weight loss wanted. I’m at 1,177 for loss of 2 lbs a week. It’s working! Also it tracks water & sleep which are so important!! Social on that app not even close to fat secret & support & communication between members. Fat secret more of a family of people eager to support & help!!! But lose it is great for “real calorie” needs. Also tracks steps & macros. Just slide home page to left. Automatically takes calories burned off total for you to. Using both had helped me in last 2-3 months!!! Can set goals there to. Good luck🍀

I started at about 1200 till lost et now lose it has me at 1770. However they warn me 1200 healthier. I actually eat between 800 & 1000 a day. Not starving. Also don’t eat after 4 pm. To each their own. Gotta feel it out & see what works for you. Everyone different. I started with keto last February & lost 20 lbs. then 0 for 2 months. CICO had allowed me to lose 62 lbs in total. Also I do 16:8 intermittent fasting. But really not necessary. But not eating at night been big thing for me!! Good luck🍀

1000 calories a day? Where are you getting that number? It seems awfully low and doesn't give you much room to cut further if at some point you no longer lose on that. There's only so much cardio one can do and so many calories one can cut for a sustainable long-termweight loss.

1000 calories is too low. Its dangerous, especially for a high schooler. Please do not go below 1200, and if youre walking 2 miles a day (which is great, congrats!) you should be closer to 1500-1700 for your weight.

I'm definitely no expert, but I eat below 1000 everyday. or at least in the past 2 weeks since I started this app. since I'm eating mainly veggies, its kinda hard to eat 1200 calories without making my stomach hurt. I don't eat breakfast. I'm just not hungry in the mornings. my first meal is usually around 3pm when I will have something like bacon and eggs. if I want something sweet then I'll have some grapes. I only ate around 800-900 calories yesterday and I'm still full.

I need to be in the 900s to loose. Mostly because I am not yet exercising. Use a calculator online to determine your calorie needs. Usually the lowest is 1200 cal. You can drink keto coffee as late breakfast to help you fast until lunch

I start the day with a large glass of lemon water, it detoxes your liver and I have a glass with every meal instead of sodas or seltzer. You should have a protein and a vegetable for lunch and supper. Snacks should be fruits like blueberries, strawberries , blackberries, and raspberries. I try to stay under 1000 calories a day, it works for me but might not be enough for someone else. I lost 25 lbs in 10 weeks and I’m going to try to loose 5 more. Good luck

Rachel, I suggest you try to eat between 1200 to 1500 a day. Maybe a little more one day...a little less the next. At your weight you should lose & this will start to teach you a way of eating that will be better for you long term. A really low calorie count is not sustainable & you may not be able to include the nutrients you need for your teenage body.
