Hey, it was Thanksgiving. I enjoyed it. No one brought baby carrots so I was stuck with Taco Salad and Doritos for snacks. Oh well.
My rotisserie turkey turned out awesome! I put cherry wood chips in the grill to give it some smoke flavor and the turkey picked it up really well. My other turkey that I cooked in an infrared cooker wasn't as good. Just your standard slightly dry plain flavored turkey. The skin was very crispy though, so that was nice.
NYTimes.com had a video on how to carve turkeys yesterday. It was a little different than some I've seen but looked promising. Watched it three times and then had at it on the turkeys. It worked brilliantly! I've never felt that I've done a really good job at carving poultry before but after yesterday, now I do. I almost want to go out and get another turkey so that I can cook it and carve it up. I didn't actually get to eat much of my turkey and we had almost no leftovers, so maybe I'll do that.
