Workout #48 of 2013. New shoes Asics Gel Exalt 10.5. Exalts are looser, for overpronators. $70, the most I've ever paid for running shoes. Ouch. But at least I wore out a pair of running shoes. I was getting blisters. Let's see if this helps.
I probably passed up a PR and went for a longer run. It must be the shoes. Or the cooler weather, which helps, too. Low 60s.
Times: 9:22 to D. 14.44 to hwy, then went north and tried new path. D again about 47. Back about 56. Warmdown walk to 71 minutes. Sore front hips at end of walk, which happens sporadically. I actually wonder if the shoes prompted me to go out faster because I was about spent by 47 minutes, after running the first 30+ without walking. Hmmmm..... I'm still not convinced that going fast for as long as you can is a bad idea. It's open-ended, but leaves room for the upside of a great day where you just keep going.
