Managed to read # 15 on the Ketone strips for the first time ever, don't know if that is good, but know it is better than # 5 ..the highest I had ever gotten before. Did really good today and feeling great.

I've heard that if it is that high you are dehydrated. The color is not important, just as long as you are in ketosis.

Brenda, I know it can be very exciting to get darker on the sticks, but ........ you burn the same amount of ketones regardless if it's trace or large. And feeling fatter is right, dehydration can cause false positives. Make sure you are drinking 1/2 your body weight in oz of water. Congrats on ketosis. Sounds like you are doing a fine job!

An increased fat intake can affect them (darken) as well. Keep an eye on your scale this week to see if the loss corresponds with the color. I'm debating if I want to continue using them in my weightloss journey.
