Since early January of this year I have lost 22 pounds to date, which is great of course, especially in terms of fitting into old clothes etc.
But a thought entered my head as to how to put that weight loss into something more tangible. So I went to my fridge and took out an unopened bottle of semi-skimmed milk (4pint). I weighed it on my kitchen scales, and it came it at around 5 pounds.
Intrigued I rummaged around in my plastic recycle tub in my shed, and found 3 more bottles. So I filled them with water, and weighed those (using my bathroom scales this time) so that each one weighed 5 pounds, making 4 bottles (and 20 pounds) in total.
I then tried to lift all 4 bottles with one hand (fiddly, but I managed it). And OMG I now know what 20 pounds really "feels" like!
And to think I was carrying that around on me just before I started my diet in January!
