It's been a whole week since I started calorie counting. I added my total calories up and got an average over the last 7 days: 2,069 per day. I'm supposed to be 2,000 or less for a small weight loss per week (.5 lb). My dinner on Friday night KILLED my average (steak and mashed potatoes).

We had a great time at the comedy show. I ran into an old fling/coworker. He was trashed. He asked me how my dog Lily was about 4 times in the course of 5 minutes.

Before the show we locked ourselves (and our friends) out of the house for the 2nd time in less than a month. We are ridiculous. Luckily b/c the weather was nice the 2nd floor windows were open so our neighbor Alan lent us a ladder and Salem climbed through after busting ANOTHER screen!!! Needless to say THIS TIME we learned our lesson and Salem had a spare made and we gave it to Alan yesterday.

Money update... I'm down to $64. Still not too shabby. All I have to do is make it til Thursday (payday) and I will have been successful in my debit card only experiment. I started reading Dave Ramsey's other book "More Than Enough" last night. So far, I like it a lot.

In 2 days "No Spend September" begins. It's going to be quite the challenge for me, who likes to jump on every good deal I find. A "necessities only" mindset will be hard to come by.

Today I am grateful for:
1) gorgeous fall weather
2) having a convertible so I can put the top down and feel the breeze
3) holiday weekend coming up

Except for the minor breaking and entering, your weekend sounds so much fun! You're down so well with your calories and with your money! Chris, keep it up and a little steak and potatoes, is never a bad idea :)

Locked out a second time? Ouch! Wise idea to give a spare key to your neighbor! you're not doing bad with the calories, if you have to eat 2000 a day, 2069 is good. you're right a single meal can kill the average... Have a great monday Chris!

I haven't Heard of that book by Dave Ramsey! You are doing great with your eating, even though the friday night meal made your cals per day higher, thats fine. 1 day out of 7 is ok. I really Hope I never get locked out... lol... i boogy proofed my house since I live alone, and I have no clue How I would get in if Im locked out!!! LMAO

I like Dave "beans and rice" Ramsey. Having a handle on health and wealth takes care of 2 of the 5 major areas of life which makes working on the other 3 easier. Keep up the good work.

Hi Chris! Glad you gave Allen a key. Just in case! lol I haven't heard of that book but I am going to look it up when I am finished reading journals. Sounds like you had lots of fun this weekend and you are doing great with that money!
